2010-11 Ministry Kick-Off!
Home > News & Events > 2010-11 Ministry Kick-Off!The 2010-2011 ministry year is about to begin, and we want you to be a part of the excitement!
So … what’s new?
Well … beginning the week of Sunday, September 12th …
In our Adult Bible Fellowships (aka Sunday School) there are going to be three options. Steve B is going to be leading a “General Studies” track, similar to the material already being presented. Joe and Rich W are going to be team teaching a “Community” track, focusing on relationships (parent/child, christian/world, member/member, etc.) Pastor John is going to be leading an “Engaging with Gospel” track, focusing on what the Gospel is and what that means for everyone who has been confronted with it.
In addition to Sunday morning worship & ABFs, we are going to continue having Adult Connection Groups that meet in members’ homes in the evenings. (As we continue to develop a vision for a “Coffee House” ministry, one or more of these groups may meet at the church to take advantage of this opportunity.) We are currently planning on (4) groups, meeting Wednesday through Saturday evenings from 7:00-8:30(ish) PM. Actual lesson content, meeting schedules and whether children can be brought to the fellowship are at the individual group leaders’ discretion … but is you want to join in the fun and fellowship, let one of our elders know. (If you are a member of FBC and would like to lead one of these groups, or if you are a member or regular visitor who would like to host one of these groups in your home, let one of the elders know.) A Word About Childcare: In general the presence of young children detracts greatly from the fellowships, and parents are encouraged to coordinate child care for their own children in their own homes. If this is not an option, either financially or for some other reason, please discuss it with your group leader.)
For NexTgen (aka “Teens”) ~ We start a new curriculum entitled “KNOWN”. Joe and Janet W are going to be leading NexTgen and coordinating the Wednesday Night sessions.Tom & Kelly F are going to be assisting Joe & Janet, in particular leading the the NexTgen Sunday sessions.
For Grade School ~ We are kicking off a Pioneer Clubs program for kids (grades 1-6) on Wednesdays from 7-8:30pm. Our program will include Bible time, scripture memorization, crafts & life skills, game time and snacks too. We would love to see a large group for this fun time together. If you fit the age group, please plan on joining us … and invite your friends too.
What about younger kids (Birth – K)? Well – to be honest … we would love to have programming for the young ones … but we currently don’t have any regular attendees in this age group. So … IF you have kids in this age range, and you would like to get them involved in a weekly discipleship opportunity through FBC, We would REALLY LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU. Our prayer is that we can provide a cradle to glory program to assist every person in Knowing Christ and becoming better followers of Him!
