About

The First Baptist Church of Holley was established the same year that the Erie Canal was completed, 1825. The church has maintained a consistent witness for Jesus Christ for over 180 years. Our present building, constructed of Medina sandstone, celebrated its 100th anniversary in 1990. It was completely renovated forty years ago and has been kept in good repair since that time. A new parsonage was built in 1969 and a house adjacent to the church property was purchased to be used as the pastor’s study.

Our church is distinctly evangelical in ministry and conservative in doctrine.

We are affiliated with the North American Baptist Conference.

In 2006 the congregation approved many constitutional changes, including a return to the historically Baptist polity model of Congregational Eldership. Our Senior Pastor serves as Lead Elder, assisted by members elected to Eldership by the congregation. In addition, we have congregationally elected Deacons. Together, the Elders & Deacons form the senior leadership team of the church.
